A series of different territories
As the plurality of the name implies in Italian, the Marche region consists of a series of different territories. There’s the Marche by the sea, whose waters have been awarded the European Blue Flag ecolabel, with long and sandy beaches, interrupted by rocky promontories, like that of the San Bartolo and Conero parks. There’s the Marche of the hills, covered with olive groves and cultivated fields, with characteristic villages and wonderful cities of the arts: including Urbino, Fermo, Macerata, Ascoli Piceno, Osimo, Offida, among others. There’s the Marche of the woodlands and mountains, with Monti Sibillini National Park, and the Natural Regional Park of Gola della Rossa and Frasassi. In short, it’s a region that offers a kaleidoscope of environments, cultures, traditions, and culinary traditions.
