Senigallia: and the velvet beach

Senigallia, a seaside resort on The Marches Coast has many attractions that make it an ideal destination for sea holidays of families. The beach (called Velvet Beach) famous for its very fine sand and crystal clear sea, with its 13 Km of golden sand, it is famous in Italy and abroad.

The city is also famous for wine and food:  Senigallia is the capital of taste, a tradition of good food and genuine flavours. There are many specialities to be tasted in the typical Senigallia taverns as  «brodetto», "vincisgrassi", cannelloni, "porchetta", served with  excellent wines such as the "Lacrima di Morro d' Alba", and the "Verdicchio".

The centre offers the tourists countless monuments and glimpses of rare beauty: the Rocca Roveresca, the Foro Annonario, Piazza Roma and the Old Palaces. Senigallia adheres to the La Terra del Duca project that involves also Gubbio, Pesaro and Urbino: territories and medieval villages of great artistic and cultural valour that, throughout the year, offer varied cultural initiatives to the tourists, from exhibitions of handicraft art inspired by the great historical traditions of the Della Rovere family, to Renaissance banquets.

The hills surrounding the town are fascinating, with walls and medieval castles: Corinaldo, Jesi, Piticchio, Nidastore, Morro d' Alba.
